    Me also. Lately, the knee-jerk reaction to the corruption and mis-management is to pull the plugs on the programs all together, which still does nothing to the politicians who were abusing them while hurting those that actually did benefit.

    I think Milei has already shown the way, not we just need more people to follow.

    Musk tried that and screwed a bunch of stuff up because there are laws
    against that here. There *are* ways to do a lot of it legally, he just
    didn't bother to figure out how.

    It makes me wonder if it is the same printer making company that had 10 open possitions, organized an exam, picked the 7 best and then 3 random DEI picks, and eventually none of the DEI picks showed up for the job. And then when they
    went to pick the next 3 best they had excluded they could not find them. Karma
    is a bitch..

    Sounds like the issue is picking "random" people, DEI or otherwise. If
    they felt like they had to pick "3 DEI," they should have picked the 3 best
    to start with and not 3 "random" ones.

    whats screwed up? i dont see anything screwed up.

    They fired a bunch of NWS employees. After a couple of deadly storm
    outbreaks, they are trying to hire a bunch of them back (125 at last count).

    Similar things happened at the FAA... fired a bunch of people then realized they needed a bunch of them back.

    There are other instances of them "firing" people but having to continue
    paying them, to not work, because the manner in which they were fired is legally questionable.

    dude that shit happens all the time in the govt. i think that was just some shit the media was focusing on.

    i'm sure a lot of them got the axe (if they even did) because they were supposed to reply back to that email and did not. on facebook there were people saying that they refused to do that email contact form.

    regarding the people in my area who got the axe, their jobs seemed like fake jobs where somehow they got in a position where they did very little or nothing.

    furthermore govt workers have the ability to use an internal site to transfer to other positions. i just think it was media hype mostly.

    that firing and rehiring shit happens frequently without elon.

    As a hiring manager, you have to wonder whether good candidates, who
    happened to be White and/or male were filtered out by HR.

    I know that HR *DO* engage in selection based on race and gender. DEI
    and quotas have legalised this behaviour.

    The most troubling thing, is HR is mostly White Women, who seem to
    think that working against White Men is in their interest. Bizarre.

    Not to this degree it does not.

    You should never respond to someone without going through your chain of command. It looked very much like a potential phishing scheme, which is something you should never respond to. I have seen the email and would
    have reported it to our IT Security team.

    That is possible. If it is dealt with through the proper channels, then
    you get them fired, they stay fired, and you don't have to keep paying them

    That is a screwed up way to think about it. You can get what looks like a
    "DEI candidate" (to persons who care) but who is also really, really good at what they do.

    See above. You can check off the box and get a good worker. That is not anywhere near impossible if HR is doing their job.

    Now, if the whole process was to get *7* jobs filled, and hire three people

    is also messed up, just in a different way.

    Well, for starters, any political program that talks about
    "reparations" consisting in you having to pay a protected group for something somebody else did to a third party 250 years ago. It is virtually blaming you for things done by other person just because you happen to be an evil white motherfucker who has to pay.

    That's a very reductive argument. There's been 250 years of systemic
    prejudice against a people that somehow needs to be remedied. The
    people who've lived under those conditions are the poorest, most
    incarcerated, least represented citizens.

    The issue is how to remedy it without punishing those that are not involved
    in perpetuating the prejudice. Most of what our government will likely
    come up with will likely involve "punishing" the general populace
    (including the persons supposedly being remedied to) while doing very
    little to any politicians or business leaders who are playing active roles
    in these issues.

    Our current administration is actively removing tributes to
    famous and successful African-Americans.

    This in particular is really stupid. Why bother? It only costs money to
    do what they are doing. If they are famous and successful, they should be celebrated as "American success stories" rather than actively suppressing
    their memories.

    Haven't heard about this one. Any examples that you could provide?

    Google "US renaming Tubman" to find something regarding the renaming of
    naval ships. IMHO, it was a little odd to name ships after civil
    rights leaders, social activists, and Supreme Court members who weren't in the Navy.

    That isn't saying that some of them, like Tubman, don't have a very
    significant place in our country's history, as they do, but I think it was
    a little weird they named a ship after Ruth Bader Ginsberg to begin with.
    That said, it was done and I don't really support spending the time,
    effort, and money on changing these things.

    They have also considered renaming a military base or two. Fort Cavazos,
    the former Ft Hood, is one that has been floated as up for a possible
    rename (back to Ft Hood). The person it was renamed after is a former
    military man -- a four star general -- so the name makes more sense. But, since he's hispanic (and Hood was CSA), having his name on it is "DEI."

    Also, is this like the previous administration removing all kinds of tributes/statues/memorials of famous and successful Southern-Americans
    from the Civil War era, because of what they stood for? Oh, and also
    like the renaming of military installations because they had
    "offensive" names?

    I didn't necessarily support the renaming of Ft. Hood but, now that it is
    done and (IMHO) it was renamed after someone deserving, I don't support changing it again. It was wasteful then and would be wasteful now.

    I'm not claiming reparations are the solution I'd choose, but the
    problem persists.

    What solution *would* you choose, pray tell? How, exactly, can this
    problem be "fixed"?

    I am not sure there is a solution, at least not one that the government
    would come up with. IMHO, it would be best remedied if persons could stop looking at the color or sex of an individual and base everything on their merits but, in practice, I am not sure humans are capable of doing so.

    I had my HR have me fill out an employment survey. it didn't some from my boss. it came right from HR. I did the exact same thing, i explained my duties and expressed any concerns and i got to meet with them again and i got a pay raise and i got my job matrix fixed. stop acting like this shit doesn't happen.
